Just a quick post to say that my surgery went well and I am now banded. Everything went smoothly and I was discharged and in the car at 1:45. I decided I would like to be home in Ottawa so my DH drove us back and I am now in my own bed. I slept most of the 4 hour drive (ok he was speeding a bit) and only had to take one shot of the liquid codeine.
I also want to add that I was extremely touched by those that made wonderful comments as I struggled through these last few days. I think of all of you as my friends and cheering section that helped me get through this. I love blogging and reading all your blogs. Now that I am home for 3 more weeks, I'll be reading even more.
So big hugs to all of you. OOOOOOOOOOO. Did you feel it!
I'm now a real bandster. Life begins again.

Congrats! Take it easy over the next few days! Lots of rest and liquids is key and before long you will be back up and running :)
Three cheers for Sandy Lee!!! Well done you. It's a cliché but so true, that this is the first day of the rest of your life, and things will never be the same. The first good thing I noticed was the improvement in my self-esteem, and the feeling that at last I had hope. It was brilliant. We'll support you as much as we can.

Glad everything went well. I just read some of your previous posts and I have run into my share of delays as well. Congrats.
AWESOME!! Welcome Sandy! I hope you feel reasonably well...the first few days are rough - take the pain meds and the Gas-X! And I always tell everyone a heating pad on my chest/tummy/back really felt great, maybe try that.
So happy for you! This will be the best thing you've ever done for yourself.
Congratulations Sandy!!!
Welcome to the "Sisterhood of the Bandster's"!!!
Take it easy, and don't over do it like I did after I felt great at day 10 Post-Op, or you could end up hurting all over again!
Yay!!! So glad you went well and are able to be home in your own bed :-)
Take it easy
HOORAY!! I'm so glad it all went well! Yes, I'm sure being home will make you feel more comfortable. Get your hubby to thump you on the back (like burping a baby) to help with the gas. Congratulations on being all done! Can't wait to share all your new experiences with you!
Thanks for the hug...so glad it all went well and I can't wait to see how you are going.
Congratulations!! I actually have tears in my eyes because I'm so happy for you and I know what a life changing thing this is. :) Hugs to you too! Rest up and blog often.
Glad to hear it went well and welcome to banded life! Get lots of rest.
Take care.
I am so very excited for you, I could just pee.. Well umm perhaps not. I dont pee as easily as I used to now.. LOL, one of the joys of the band and it's help in the fight against my fat.. Anyway, I truely am excited for you, and just want to say that although the next week or few might be a mix of emotions, like "What the F*&% have I done??? , but believe me, you'll be loving it in no time, and it will be so worth it..Big, gentle hugs right back. Welcome to the bandland..
xx Nene

Fantastic! I'm glad to hear everything went well. Walk, walk, walk. I walked more than most on my floor and never had gas. I know everyone's different but I know the moving helped.
I'm so happy for you!
CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the sisterhood! Glad to hear you're feeling well. I felt pretty much back to normal by day 5. I hope you're getting lots of rest and lots of fluids!
