Cookie Monster

I love to bake, especially cookies but haven't baked much in the last year. I would make dozens of cookies "for the kids" but could easily put away dozens right out of the oven. I do know that the batch rarely lasted more than 2 days in my house.

So now to the point of this post. I know I will hear from my close friends and relatives who read my blog with a few tut tut's but here goes.

I made Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies yesterday and ate 3 big ones. Tonight I came home from the gym and ate about 20 of them. Yup, my band aches a bit and I really wasn't hungry but I ate them anyway. Where are my kids when I need them.

I don't think I need a fill bacause honestly I don't feel hungry throughout the day and I have to remember to eat. Except when a big container of Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies is calling to me. I am going to make DH and son eat them!

Oh well, tomorrow is a new day.
Hmmm. Peanut Butter Cookies sound good.

Back away from the cookies!

Remember that simple sugars like those in cookies can cause your blood sugar to spike and then plummet which cause intense cravings in many people. When that happens it is so easy to reach for another cookie because you really do WANT it to regulate the blood sugar. Just ride it out and next time you want cookies, chose to have and enjoy ONE serving (if you can).

For now, forgive yourself and move on.

eh... no tut tutting from me.

I've certainly done that. Why do we do that, I've always wondered? We're not hungry, we know we shouldn't, and yet we do.

Oh well, move on. Tomorrow's another day.

As for the fill thing - it's such an odd thing. Some people determine the need for a fill by weight loss along, others by how hungry you are, still others by the quantity of food you can consume at any one time.

I know for me, I am always, always, always able to eat way more of things like cookies and chocolate than things like chicken or veggies... so... I think you know what's the right fill level for you and that's what you should stick with!!

(Oh, and I'd love the recipe - I don't have one for oatmeal choc. chip cookies)

I can totally relate...I had a craving/desire to make preacher's cookies yesterday (melted cocoa, butter, oatmeal and peanut butter). I felt a moral need since we had surplus peanut butter in the house...then I had to slap my hand into submission.

I can totally relate!!!! Be strong.

Cookies are rough, that's for sure! Before my fill, I certainly had more than my share around the holidays, but I am happy to say I still have a half tin that are UNEATEN! Sure, some of it is due to the fact that I'm on mushies, but I haven't thought about them.

Forgive, and move on!

I've been missing from blog land for the last few months but I'm jumping back into things!

I won't be tut tutting you. Been there...done that...probably do it again before I learn my lesson.

I am the cookie monster at my house. My son's birthday was yesterday and I got him a cookie cake. It was the old fashion butter cookie kind. You remember the ones we used to have in grade school.....oh my!! Today is a new day Sandy!!

THIS is why I love you. Because you could meet me cookie for cookie in a cookie eating contest. I can easily down 20 on a bad day.
