On Monday I had a small 0.5 cc fill. Since my unfill and topup last week back to 3 cc (which is what I had at surgery over two months ago), I now have 3.5 cc in a 10 cc band so I guess this is really my second first fill. I think I have a bit of restriction as I am not crazy eating like I was on the weekend. So far today I have only had a protein shake around 8:30 and then 1 cup of chili at 11:30 and I feel satisfied. I hope this helps knock off a few pounds since I have been stuck at the same weight for the past month. I feel Gen's pain of being in plateauland. Since I had so many problems when I had 4 cc in the band, we will only go up in small increments each time (like 0.25 cc).
I am trying to figure out if I should just book a fill in two weeks or wait to see if this fill works. What do you do? Pre-book your fill appointments or just play it by ear and book when you think you need one. I am so confused. Hurry up BG and get that book written.
On another note, 2/3 of my family is stuck on the other side of the world. DH is in Manila and my DS is stuck in South Africa. They were both supposed to fly back this coming weekend so I am hoping the flights get back on schedule. My DS flies through Frankfurt which is still reduced and the flights from the far east are jammed with people taking alternate flights back to North America. They'll get here, but I miss them.

I'm glad your second (third?) fill went well. I hope your family is safe and gets home soon. What a headache!
Hopefully this fill gets you to green. I hope your family arrives home soon & safely.
Ack, sorry to hear about the far-flung family members. I hope the air traffic gets sorted so they come home soon!
Keep us updated on your fill, sounds like you're getting to a good spot.
I hope this fill works out great for you. I would go ahead and schedule, you can always cancel if you don't need the fill.
My brother-in-law is stuck in Africa as well, he was scheduled to be home yesterday, I hope all that clears up soon. What a mess.
That totally stinks about people being stuck overseas. I just keep thinking about all of those poor people who aren't on a company dime but were just traveling abroad and are STUCK and having to pay for hotels, food, etc. It is awful.
As for fill, this post is interesting to me today. I am 4 weeks post-op (today) and went to get my first fill. They use an x-ray and barium swallow to help you determine if you need a fill. Apparently I am at a PERFECT spot right now. I'm hungrier than I was a week ago but am still steadily losing about a 1/2 pound a week so they really did not want me to get a fill. Thus, I have no fill but still have restriction. How weird is that? I'm checking back in there in two weeks to see where I am but strange...
I would schedule the fill and then if you don't need it, cancel it. That is what my husband usually does.
Hope everyone gets home safe and soon! Also, I hope this fill starts working for you!
I have my fill booked for May 5 and I am a little weary after last weeks episode. I guess I will make the decision after I weight myself on Thursday!
Good luck seniorita!
Glad I am not the only one that has to take their fills slowly! It does suck though because my last fill only gave me restriction for a couple of days! yuck Now I can eat like a horse again (and have been, believe me) Hopefully yours will last longer than mine did. I would schedule in advance. I mean when it comes down to it you could always cancel if you decide you don't need it, right?
I would schedule the fill and cancel if you find you don't need it. Hope your family makes it home soon!
Hi Sandy,
We are roughly the same stage. I had my first fill 2 weeks ago and was immediately pre booked for fill #2 three weeks after the first one. That means I get my #2 fill tomorrow week, 8 days away.
Initially I thought the first fill was enough but being almost two weeks post and with an increasing appetite I am glad the next appointment is coming up. I agree with the others, provided you don't get charged a cancellation fee, you can always reschedule for a further two weeks down the track if you need the additional time.
That sucks that your family is stranded.
As for fills. The clinic I go to will automatically offer me a re-book 4-6 weeks later and if I feel I need to come in sooner or later I can re-schedule.
OMG I just saw my lollipop award! I love it! I was so busy trying to fix my blog I did not get over here until now....Thank you!
As for the fill, I would book it for 2 weeks, definitely. Seems like in the beginning the fills would only last me 2 weeks until I got to 6 or 7 ccs.
Thanks for the commiseration on the plateau. I know it will happen eventually. For you too!
OMG - I just saw your comment and nearly cried when you said I un-followed you. You little twirp! Don't do that to me! LOL
