I'm a little peeved right now. Just got back from my nephew's confirmation, where I might add, I ate reasonably well. NO ONE noticed I had lost 25 pounds. What gives about that. I also had this cute haircut, mineral makeup which took a few years off my face and NO ONE made one comment. This little get together was with my DH's family. He is one of 6 boys and when we get together there are lots of us. My DH is thin (and he works hard to keep it that way) but his brothers are heavy, two at least over 300 pounds. The last time I saw them was Christmas at my place, 25 pounds ago. Did I and do I still look so fat to them that they can't say I look good!
I am proud that I got out this morning cleaning up my front gardens for hours. Worked some muscles that have lay dormant over the winter. I love to garden and am finding it easier to do the heavier stuff like pulling weeds, cutting the lawn, transplanting bushes, washing windows (just for you Draz) and filling in the groundhog hole under our front porch for the thousandth time! I'm waiting for the gym membership to arrive in the mail but I can't use it til June 1st, since I missed the cut-off date for the corporate rate. I'll have to get back to my 4km walks now that the weather is nice.
And who knew. So many of you talk about Greek yogourt so I bought some last week for a recipe. There it sat, almost a full tub of the plain and since I'm not a big yogourt fan I thought lets make a dip. Threw in some vege seasoning, garlic powder, Mrs. Dash and then dipped a bunch of Potato Chips into it. Whoda thunk it would make the best chip dip in the world. I'm making another batch but this time I'll dip veges. Much healthier.
So here it is Another Saturday Night and I ain't got Nobody. Damn volcano keeping my man on the other side of the world. Working on a really good post to answer the question about what I hide behind. Still processing a light bulb moment. So many thoughts, so little time.

You have US! We're somebody and WE notice. Screw the rest of them! LOL
Watching Avatar right now...ahh I knew I we were sisters...I love gardening! I felt the same way...no one noticed until I hit about 35-40 lbs. and they'd all seen me lose that much so many times before I got very few NSV's along the way...you'll show them skinny bitch!
I don't know...Watcha gonna do when the volcano blows?!
Oh aren't they mean. I want everyone to notice mine too...some do and some don't...like my sister this morning...and I looked thinner too...nothing. Oh well....I will show them like you. Sorry your man is stuck...and not PB stuck. LOL Booked my flight today....so excited and scared....LOL
Oh Sandy.. My guess is that they did notice and were JEALOUS.. or didn't know what to say.. but rant all you want.. I have lost 40 lbs and not one person at work has said a word.. but I could give two (fill in the blank).. I feel good and you feel good about our WL, and that is all that counts.
Maybe they did notice but...didnt say anything for a variety of reasons? Still...shame on them. I find that my sister doesnt ever say much about my weight loss. I think for her it is hard bc she wanted the surgery as well...and we went to the seminar at the same time but her insurance didnt approve.
But the important thing is that you have lost and make good choices today!
I am happy to be following your blog!
Try Taziki...I don't think that is how you spell it but it's a greek yogurt dip with cucumbers and yumminess. I got mine at the grocery store, SO GOOD. Light and refreshing, perfect for warmer weather.
You make me laugh Sandy! I want to go to Chicago so I can meet you!
Seeeeee Sandy - I told you Amy W would be here soon!!!!!! Smooches!
I've noticed that when overweight people are at the "I don't care" stage, they certainly notice when others have lost weight, but they tend not to say anything because (a) they don't want to acknowledge out loud that you've done a "good thing" and it's what they themselves should be doing, and (b) they fear you or someone else may then say 'well how about you then'?
Presumaly your DH is still waiting his turn for a flight home - has he been given a date yet?
Caroline
No one has commented on my weight loss either, I would think over 40 pounds would be noticeable. I do get complimented on how good I look; maybe that's that a euphemism for "you've lost weight"?? It would be nice if they came right out and said it, maybe they're worried I would be offended? Who the heck knows what goes on in other people's minds.
25 pounds down is amazing, you're doing great and I'm sure you look it too.
I know I didn't get comments until I lost over 40 pounds. I don't know if it's a combination of people not wanting to offend or just not paying attention. The depressing part is I needed encouragement more at that stage then I do now (when people discuss it all the time).
I can see that you're getting much thinner. :)
Sandy
I have a similar problem , I think a lot has to do with the clothes you wear - as you said - When better fitting clothes are worn people WILL notice....
yeah i saw a good friend last week (who KNEW i was having the surgery) and she didn't say anything! totally pissed me off!
That's really hard when you feel so good and people don't notice. I try to explain that to my husband (hinting that he should compliment me more when I take time to look nice), but he doesn't seem to get it. I told him flat out that once I get the band and start losing weight he better tell me how good I look constantly or he won't be getting any. I also didn't like your sister's explanation that people don't comment because you gain the weight back. That should't matter - you put the effort into losing the weight so people should still comment.
People are jealous because you look so good!
Cheers to you SKINNY BIATCH!
